"Lucky" or "Babe"

I can't wait to go to my parents this weekend. And hang out with this little guy my mom found in the woods.

I'm so excited for the day I get a dog. I think after I get moved and settled....and a job with  normal hours...within a normal distance from my living space...I'll be ready for a pup of my own. She'll be the best dog ever I just know it!

And now for the latest Hyperboleandahalf .....HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAAHAAAAAA!!!

Please to define "normal hours" and "normal distance from living space"? I was unaware of the existence of such entities.

You work closer to your domicile than our father did and he was gone from 7AM-6+PM every day.
You work closer to your domicile than I do and I am gone most days from 8AM-7+PM every day.
I don't understand what you're referring to.

And stop instilling artificial barriers on yourself which prevent you from attaining your goals. If you really want a dog, you'll find a way to manage it in your current situation. I'm sure you have at least one co-worker who manages it today.

You and our father have families to help you take care of pets. I don't believe in leaving an animal in a cage for that long. But the biggest reason is that I don't want any reason to keep me from up and moving next year. It's not the right time.

Also, my hours away from home are pretty high right now. On a day with NO responsibility I leave at 7 and get home at 5. Home at 6 on tutorial days, and that's if I don't go to the gym, which would put me home at 7:30. On coaching days (games, working high school, meetings, etc...) I leave at 6:30 am and get home about 9:30pm. I also take trips everytime we get a break from school. "Normal hours" would be working the regular 8-4 school day that my coworkers enjoy year round, hopefully living close enough to check on her if I need to.

I didn't have anyone to help me take care of Buddy for 7 of the 10 years he was with me.

If you really want a pet, you'll find a way andif you really wanted a pet, it wouldn't have any bearing on your ability to move. The only thing keeping you from doing anything is you.

Right, which is why my post wasn't meant to sound whiny like, "Oh Im so sad I CAN'T have a dog right now". I just said I was excited about the day I'm ready to have a dog. Which will probably be a couple years from now when I've moved and settled. Dogs are not a small responsibilty and I don't care to add it to my plate just yet.
